Description

1. The AMG8833 is the next generation of thermal 8x8 IR sensors, offering higher performance than its predecessor, the AMG8831. The sensor supports only I2C and includes a configurable interrupt pin that triggers when a single pixel exceeds or falls below a set threshold. 2. This component measures temperatures ranging from 0°C to 80°C (32°F to 176°F) with an accuracy of ±2.5°C (4.5°F). It can detect a person from up to 7 meters (23 feet) away. With a maximum frame rate of 10 Hz, it's for building your own detector or mini thermal imaging camera. 3. Add thermal imaging capabilities to your project with the AMG8833 GridEYE Breakout. This sensor features an 8x8 array of IR thermal sensors. When connected to your microcontroller (or compatible device), it provides an array of 64 individual infrared temperature readings via I2C. It's like those sleek thermal imagers but compact and simple enough for easy integration. 4. We provide code for using this breakout with a compatible device (the sensor communicates via I2C) or with Python on a Raspberry Pi. On the Pi, we interpolated the 8x8 grid using image processing assistance from the SciPy Python library, achieving impressive results!
