The DS3502 I2C digital potentiometer allows you to let the microcontroller adjust the resistance for you, without having to turn the knob with your hands like an animal! Now you can free up your hands to spin a fidget spinner or eat a slice of pizza while you are on the phone. Communicating over the I2C bus, for your Arduino, CircuitPython board, or Python-powered computer can communicate with the DS3502 and tell it to change its resistance according to your requirements. The use of the DS3502 is as simple as an I2C controllable pie. We have placed it on a breakout PCB with the required support circuitry and a qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connector so that you can use it with other boards equipped with similar devices without soldering. This handy little helper works with either 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers, so it can be used with a wide range of development boards. The DS3502 is a simple chip that does one thing very well, so it's very easy to use. Connect it up and set the wiper value, and that's it.
