This edited volume examines the recalibration of the Peopleâs Liberation Armyâs (PLA) roles and missions in Chinaâs domestic and foreign policymaking since Xi Jinpingâs ascension to power in late 2012. This book explores how Chinaâs growing military prowess along with Beijingâs ongoing shift away from keeping a low profile owes much to the policies of the Chinaâs Communist Party under Xi Jinpingâs leadership.
