For GM vehicles equipped with a 315 MHz or 433 MHz Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) system, a sensor relearn procedure must be performed after tire rotation, remote lock receiver module replacement, or tire pressure sensor replacement. This relearning process can be performed using the EL-50448 TPMS relearn tool. TPMS sensors on 2012 and later GM models require specific diagnostic tools for reading. Before the TPMS operates normally, the body control module records the ID information of each tire pressure sensor position. After replacing a tire, wheel speed sensor, or TPMS sensor, the system must be relearned. To complete the relearn procedure: - Enter the vehicle’s TPMS relearn mode. - Follow the vehicle-specific activation steps. - Upon successful completion, the turn signal indicator will illuminate for 3 seconds and the horn will sound twice. The EL-50448 tool is compatible with select GM vehicles from model years 2010–2013, including Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. It supports both the deflation method and the scan tool method where applicable. The tool enables quick and accurate reprogramming of TPMS sensors.
